April 2, 2006 - The Award Oltrecosmo off its first candle, and finds himself in his hands a gift not bad. And 'in fact, the online contest official website, viewable at http://www.oltrecosmo.org/ . The decision to dedicate a room for the initiative itself was proper, given the need to collect materials such as charts, news, collaborative tools, but also the enormous amount of stories submitted in the last edition. But the site is just another small step in the journey of this unique literary competition really of its kind.
Born in April 2005 on the initiative of a fan on the newsgroup it- alt.arti.scrivere.fantascienza , the idea has been a consensus, and has developed relatively quickly thanks to the support of many webmasters and portals websites that have believed from the outset in this project. The two ideas underlying the Award sono libertà e trasparenza . La trasparenza del concorso sta invece nella totale pubblicità dei giudizi dati ai racconti in gara, nella pubblicità della gestione funds to be derived from the sale of 'paper anthology of the winners , funds - taken of course development costs - will be fully distributed among the authors, and publishing the stories in the race on the Prize website and the newsgroup from which the idea started.
But the birth of the site is just one of many steps in the economy of the award, which is now picking up more support among the authors of the genre, as evidenced by the large number of posts by authors in support of and received numerous proposals for collaboration in editing. To safeguard the two pillars at the base of the Prize, in fact, it was decided to formalize the existence a real Organizing Committee with the task of spreading the initiative again in view of the important changes that will mark the next edition.
